What an incredible weekend for our Lady Warriors as they went undefeated and were crowned Bobcat Invitational Champions!
In Game 1 versus St. Paul’s, it was a pitcher’s duel and a back-and-forth battle from the start. St. Paul’s took a 1–0 lead in the first inning, but the Warriors quickly answered with a walk from Olivia Collier, a sacrifice bunt from Heidi Willett, and an RBI double off the wall from Jaylyn Mosley. In the bottom of the second, the Warriors took the lead after an infield single from Madison Brown. Pinch runner Khloe Story stole second base, and a hard ground ball single to left field by Jaycee Mosley scored Story.
St. Paul’s tied the game in the third, and although Emma Robbins and Heidi Willett singled in the bottom half of the inning, the Warriors were unable to regain the lead. In the bottom of the fourth, with the clock expiring, Abby Ishee singled, and Kennedy Jones hit a weak ground ball to first base. She beat it out, causing an error that scored pinch runner Kinley Prater and allowed Jones to use her speed to come all the way around and score the winning run. Walk-off win, 4–2!
Madison Brown earned the win in the circle, allowing 0 earned runs with 2 strikeouts.
In Game 2 versus McGill, Brown once again got the start and earned the win in an 11–3 victory. She also went 2-for-2 at the plate. Kinley Prater added two hits in two at-bats, while Jaycee Mosley and Heidi Willett each contributed a hit. Willett, Kennedy Jones, and Khloe Story each recorded two stolen bases.
The Lady Warriors defeated Theodore 11–3 to begin Saturday morning. Madison Brown earned the win in the circle. Emma Robbins led at the plate with two hits, including a double and an RBI. Kennedy Jones added a single, an RBI, and a stolen base. Jaylyn Mosley drove in two runs.
In the following game, the Warriors defeated Williamson 9–0 as Madison Brown threw a shutout with nine strikeouts. Kinley Prater led the offense with two hits in two at-bats. Emma Robbins and Molly Conken also added hits in the game.
